2013 Tokyo Auto Show in Photos

The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show ran from November 23 to December 1, 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight, a Koto-ku convention center by the Port of Tokyo. Drawing at least 60,000 visitors daily, the show features production and concept cars from over 30 Japanese and international automobile manufacturers.

While the Jaguar F-TYPE Coupe was the sensational hit reveal on the eve of the LA Auto Show Media days, it was also shown in Tokyo as the show ran concurrently with the Los Angeles show. The stunning aluminum-bodied performance car sports a 5.0 litre V8 engine and the US Model MSRP starts at $65,000.

Another vehicle debuting simultaneously in LA and Tokyo was the Porsche Macan. Meanwhile, the Panamera Turbo S and Turbo S Executive debuted in Tokyo.

Nissan's most curious concept car is the BladeGlider. With a narrow front end and 70% of the engine and lithium-ion weight concentrated behind the driver in the wider-wheeled rear end, the BladeGlider claims extremely fast acceleration and efficient aerodynamics.

Nissan crowd-sourced aspects of the IDx Nismo concept. Customers - "digital natives" born after 1990 -  collaborated with the design team on the simple compact sedan study.

The racing-focused Nissan GT-R Nismo is touted as the fastest GT-R ever. It won't be available in the U.S. market until later in 2014 - the Japanese market gets it first in February of the coming year.

We won't see Honda's N-WGN in North America at all. Honda announced that it will soon begin selling the lightweight, fuel-efficient, recyclable mini vehicle created specifically for the Japanese market.

Mitsubishi brought three concept cars with an updated design direction to unveil; the Concept AR, a multi-purpose hybrid; the Concept GC-PHEV, a 4-wheel drive SUV plug-in hybrid; and the Concept XR-PHEV, a front-engined, front wheel drive, compact hybrid SUV.

Volvo also brought their new design language to Tokyo, showing of the sleek Concept Coupe.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled two vehicles between Tokyo and Los Angeles in a global premiere, both with the high-performance AMG badge. The Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG is powered by a 12-cylinder engine, and the SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be a limited-run farewell to the super sports car.

Land Rover's Range Rover Sport was exhibited for the first time in Japan.
