Mopar Invades Irvine, CA
Cars and Coffee might have been cancelled, but no one told these die-hard muscle car fans who showed up in Irvine this weekend. They brought with them over 1,700 examples of Chrysler's LX platform in all shapes, sizes and colors of the rainbow, including everything from factory fresh to fully custom, one-off Mopar machines.
The Spring Festival of LX began 10 years ago as a grassroots owner/enthusiast get-together for all things built atop the Chrysler LX platform.
That includes everything from the Chrysler 300 to the Dodge Charger, Challenger...
...and even the Magnum. Oh, how Mopar fans miss the Dodge Magnum! There's been a wealth of speculation about how great a Magnum Hellcat version would be.
Yes, Spring Fest is a Jeep-friendly atmosphere. After all, Jeep does make an SRT.
The Dodge brand itself became involved in the fesitives a few years back, and that's when things started to get serious.
First came the DJs to entertain the crowds.
Then came the contests.
And give-aways.
Product spokespeople like Viper Designer, Mark Trostle.
And legends like Richard Petty, with Sharpie in hand, getting ready to sign a couple of thousand autographs.
