2014 Acura RLX Luxury Sedan Video Review

Acura has been known to be a brand that prides itself on not only being luxurious, but also very innovative. Their new flagship, the 2014 RLX, continues that tradition.

At first blush, the 2014 RLX isn’t much to look at. Compared to its competitors, the RLX is a bit plain. Still, Acura gave the RLX some unique traits that help it stand out. To start are a set of Jewel Eye LED headlights which feature two rows of LED lights. There is also the well-known Acura shield grille. The interior is filled with luxuries like leather seats, wood trim, a dual-screen infotainment system, and AcuraLink. AcuraLink provides owners such features as traffic updates, Aha Radio, and Pandora.

Under the hood of the RLX, you’ll find a Direct-Injection 3.5L i-VTEC V6 engine with 310 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. This is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that routes power to the front wheels. EPA rates the 2014 RLX at 20 City/34 Highway/24 Combined. The 2014 RLX also comes with P-AWS or Precision All-Wheel Steering. P-AWS will turn the rear wheels up to 1.5 degrees in either direction to provide better and safer handling.

A 2014 Acura RLX starts at $48,450 for the base model and climbs upward to $60,450 for the RLX Advance. Competitors to the 2014 RLX include the Infiniti M35, Lexus GS, and Volvo S80.
