The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is an all-new model that marks a bold step for the brand. This five-passenger SUV is a fully electric vehicle that stays true to the rugged roots you expect from a Subaru. This includes a dual motor setup for standard all-wheel drive. This SUV is designed for eco conscious families and outdoor enthusiasts who want to transition to electric power without giving up the ability to head off the beaten path.
It is meant for the driver who needs a reliable daily commuter that can also handle a weekend at a snowy trailhead. The Subaru Trailseeker aims to prove that going green does not mean you have to stay on the pavement.
The exterior of the Trailseeker looks like an EV with a heavy dose of Subaru style. Depending on the trim, it comes with different wheel options. The Premium trim features 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels with aerodynamic covers to help with efficiency. If you step up to the Limited or Touring trims, you get larger 20-inch wheels with a machine finish and dark gray inserts that give the car a more aggressive look.
Subaru kept utility in mind with the roof design. The roof rails are built to handle a dynamic load of 176-pounds which is perfect for bikes or kayaks. When the car is parked, the static load limit jumps up to 700 pounds. This makes it an ideal choice for overlanding fans who want to install a roof top tent. The overall length of 190.8-inches gives it a substantial presence without being too difficult to park.

The cabin balances durability with comfort. There’s plenty of room for five passengers to stretch out on long road trips. Front seat passengers enjoy over 42-inches of legroom while those in the back still have over 35-inches to stretch out. The available moonroof adds an airy feel to the cabin, although it does slightly reduce the available headroom for passengers in both rows.
It’s an attractive interior with the materials used in the Limited and Touring trims elevating the experience. Whether you are carpooling to school or driving across the state, the seating is designed to remain supportive.

The Trailseeker used front and rear AC synchronous permanent magnet motors that produce a combined output of 375 horsepower. This setup provides a smooth and responsive feel that makes merging onto highways effortless. Because the power is delivered instantly from the electric motors, it feels much quicker than a traditional gas-powered SUV of this size.
That strong power on the highway translates into impressive capability off-road. Even on the slick, muddy hills we tackled on our drive, the Trailseeker had ample power to keep from getting into trouble.

The Trailseeker features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with a 74.7 kWh Lithium-ion battery. It also has standard battery pre-conditioning to manage efficiency in any weather. This rugged SUV stays ready for adventure whether you face a freezing morning or a humid afternoon trek.
Charging is easy with the NACS inlet on the right fender. Using DC fast charging, you can power from 10 to 80 percent in as quickly as 28 minutes. Subaru estimates a range of 280 miles per charge, making it easy to go through your day without needing to stop and charge.

Safety is a core part of the Subaru identity, and the Trailseeker is no exception. It comes equipped with vehicle dynamics control and all-speed traction control to help prevent skids. The active cornering assist system works behind the scenes to help the SUV turn more precisely. For stopping power, it uses an electronic controlled power-assisted braking system with ventilated discs at all four corners.
The SUV also includes essential features like brake assist and a brake override system. These work alongside the 4-channel ABS to ensure you can stop safely in emergency situations. It’s the peace of mind you need to tackle adventures with confidence.
