2018 Toyota Prius Wins AutoWeb Buyer's Choice for Best Alternative Fuel Vehicle

Congratulations to the 2018 Toyota Prius for its Alternative Fuel category win of the AutoWeb Buyer's Choice Awards. Toyota made a big bet in 1997. By building the world’s first mass production gas-electric hybrid vehicle, the Japanese automaker hoped consumers would quickly move past skepticism and on to enthusiasm for the efficiency of a hybrid. Two decades and over 3.5 million global Prius sales later, Toyota is still the gas-electric guru.

AutoWeb, Inc., formerly Autobytel, a pioneer and leading provider of digital automotive services connecting in-market car buyers with dealers and OEMs presented its annual awards in 17 vehicle categories. The winners were derived from the submitted price quote requests for specific vehicles from the more than 120 million consumers who visited AutoWeb’s network of automotive websites from October 2016 to October 2017 compared to all other vehicles in their competitive sets.
