Autobytel’s own Benjamin Hunting test-drives the all-new 2016 Toyota Tacoma. With a fresh face on a familiar chassis, everything underneath the 2016 Tacoma’s new sheet metal should be familiar to the "Taco" enthusiast, as these compact pick-up trucks have proven their durability for the past decade.
Starting at $24,200, the 2016 Tacoma is available in an assortment of bed, cab, drivetrain and engine options. Powered by either a 2.7 Liter four cylinder or a stout 3.5 Liter V6, Toyota's overhauled "compact" pickup returns as much as 19 MPG around town and up to 24 MPG on the highway. Trims for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma range from the familiar SR base model to the rugged TRD Off Road version and even include a top of the line leather-wrapped Limited version that tops out at $38,720 (with four-wheel-drive).
Competitors for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma include the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Nissan Frontier.
