Distinctive Emerald Green SS Will Debut at SEMA
2014 chevy camaro
Highlighted by a cool-toned Emerald Green finish, a new special edition for one of the gems of the Bowtie brand performance lineup—the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS—has been confirmed for both the upcoming SEMA show and the next calendar year.
The special-edition 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS will be offered in both coupe and convertible configurations, with drivers able to choose between two potent powertains: Each relies on a 5.0-liter V8 engine, with the standard setup offering a six-speed manual transmission, 426 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque; outputs with the available six-speed automatic are 400 hp and 410 lb.-ft. of torque. Then, after welcoming all the premium amenities of the 2SS trim grade, the Emerald Green package also adds a unique combination of appearance enhancements.
These include both a body-color ground-effects kit from Chevrolet Accessories and the RS Appearance Package for the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, with the latter boasting HID headlamps, LED taillamps, body-color moldings and antenna, and a unique grille design. Also in the mix are Cyber Gray rally stripes that run right up the hood, past the now body-colored extractor, and right back to the car's new spoiler, borrowed from the hi-po 2015 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
As a finishing exterior touch, the 2015 Chevrolet Camaro special edition rides on 21-inch Chrome Dusk wheels, while the cabin is done in black with Graphite Silver door- and instrument-panel inserts.
But even with all those extras, there is something that this striking 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS is missing: a name. Truth be told, the car was introduced on October 2 of this year—National Name Your Car Day—with Chevy asking folks to suggest their favorite muscle-car moniker via social media. There's also still time to get in on the action, since the brand actually won't pick a name until the Emerald Green 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS makes its public debut in November at the industry-only SEMA Show. (Use the tag #NameThatCamaro on either the Chevrolet Twitter feed or the Chevy Camaro Facebook page.)
And to be clear, whatever its name, the special 2015 Chevrolet Camaro SS is scheduled to go on sale to customers during the first quarter of the next year.
