The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C is a typically Italian sleek and low-slung coupe, and it’s a bold way for the brand to return to the North American market after being absent for nearly twenty years. This new Alfa Romeo was highlighted at a recent International Motor Press Association track day at the Monticello Motor Club. Autobytel talked to Jiyan Cadiz, the Product Manager for the Alfa Romeo 4C. He explained the brand’s technology has advanced a lot over the past two decades, and the new Alfa Romeo 4C represents some of the most innovative designs and solutions in the industry, compared to other lightweight sports cars on the market. The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C features supercar-inspired styling and proportions, with a low stance and wide fenders, and was designed starting from the rear of the car forward. That’s because the glass enclosure for the mid-mounted engine is one of the visual highlights of the car, protecting and showcasing the all-aluminum direct-injected 1750 turbo engine that provides 237 horsepower. This engine gives the Alfa Romeo 4C a top speed of over 160 miles per hour. A hand-laid carbon fiber monocoque brings motorsports-inspired functionality and saves weight. At a starting price of $53,900, the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C delivers an experience comparable to supercars that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more.
