2014 Nissan GT-R Arrives in Dealerships

Yes, the price keeps getting higher, but that’s only because Nissan’s legendary supercar keeps getting better: The 2014 Nissan GT-R is on sale now with a price that begins at $99,590—representing an increase of $2,770 as compared to the 2013 model—but “Godzilla” can now unleash both higher levels of performance and a major step forward in terms of luxury appointments.

Thus, for enthusiasts, Nissan engineers: 

• Retuned the 2014 Nissan GT-R’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 to better leverage its 545 hp and 463 lb.-ft. of torque when spinning above 4,000 rpm
• Lowered the center of gravity by fine-tuning the car’s shock absorbers, front anti-roll bar and springs
• Increased the rigidity of the GT-R’s body structure

Also added to the menu for the 2014 model year is a new Premium Interior Package. The cockpit upgrade showcases hand-stitched, Amber Red semi-aniline leather seating, along with, in the 2014 Nissan GT-R Black Edition, a new steering wheel with complementary red accents. And as long as we’re on the topic of that Black Edition, readers should note that it gets a fairly stiff price increase as well, with an MSRP that rises $3,010 over the entry point last year and currently stands at $109,330. Which includes unique appearance modifications such as lightweight aluminum-forged wheels from RAYS (in black, naturally), an exclusive red-and-black cabin, leather Recaro seats, and dry carbon-fiber rear spoiler.

A final new touch: As in past years, each of the 2014 Nissan GT-R’s engines is hand-built by one of the automaker’s powertrain experts in a special “clean room”; and this year, said engines will show off aluminum badges with the names of their makers—all the better for drivers of the 2014 Nissan GT-R to do a little showing off of their own.
