2014 Kia Cadenza Full-size Sedan Video Review

Remember the Kia Amanti? No? Don't worry, you are not the only one. The Amanti was introduced back in the mid-2000's as Kia's flagship. With very distinct styling, a generous amount of standard equipment, and Kia's 10 Year/100,000 Mile warranty, the Amanti looked to be an interesting choice. Unfortunately, the Amanti was a flop. Its distinct styling proved to be off-putting for many people. Add in the poor performance of the V6 engine and Kia's not-so-sterling reputation at the time, and it's not a surprise that the Amanti was pulled off the marketplace in 2009. Fast forward to 2013 and Kia is giving the full-size sedan class another go with the 2014 Cadenza.

The 2014 Cadenza isn't as dramatic in its design as the likes of the 2014 Chevrolet Impala, Toyota Avalon, or Chrysler 300, but there is still a lot to like. The overall profile reminds one of the current-generation BMW 5-Series sedan - especially in the back, as the models share similar styling cues. Other design cues to take note of are the Cadenza's tiger mouth grille, upswept headlights, and eighteen-inch alloy wheels.

The Cadenza's interior is full of class. There is an abundance of leather, wood trim, and soft touch materials throughout. Also in abundance is space. Whether you're sitting in the front or the back seat, you will find plenty of head and legroom. Standard equipment includes a proximity key, dual-zone climate control, Infinity audio system, an eight-inch screen with Kia's next-generation UVO infotainment system, and UVO eServices.

Powering the Cadenza is the same engine found under the hood of the Hyundai Azera; a 3.3L direct-injected V6 engine with 293 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel is the only transmission choice. EPA rates the 2014 Kia Cadenza at 19 City/28 Highway/22 Combined.
