Gets Up To 45 MPG On The Highway
The EPA this week has published the fuel economy numbers on the upcoming 2014 Ford Fiesta with the new 1.0L EcoBoost three-cylinder engine. Equipped with the five-speed manual, the 1.0L EcoBoost is rated at 32 MPG City/45 MPG Highway/37 MPG Combined. The only car who can beat that is the Mitsubishi Mirage with fuel economy ratings of 37 City/44 Highway/40 Combined when equipped with the CVT.
Ford is keeping quiet on the power figures of the 1.0L, but we're expecting them to be in the range of 123-horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque.
The 1.0L EcoBoost will be part of a new package for the Fiesta SE called the SE Manual EcoBoost package. Along with the engine, this package adds a five-speed manual, 15-inch steel wheels, regenerative brakes, and a decklid spoiler on the sedan. The package will cost $995.
