2014 Chevy Silverado High Country Will Top Next-gen Lineup

Chevy has added much that’s new to the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, and that’s going to include a new trim level designed to catch up with the latest in luxury trucks from the brand’s arch-rivals, Ford and Ram. While the Blue Oval now offers the Ford F-150 Limited on top of its already ultra-lux Platinum model, and the cabin of the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn has earned favorable comparison with the best of Bentley, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado will counter with the High Country.

According to Maria Rohrer, marketing director for the truck: “High Country will be the top model in the Silverado lineup, with a higher level of premium features and materials with a rich, Western themed appearance. But at the same time, High Country is 100-percent Chevy truck, with the capability and dependability customers have relied on for more than 95 years.”

Getting down to the nitty-gritty here, the 2014 Chevy Silverado High Country builds on the lineup's previously most premium LTZ model with:

• A chrome-packed exterior that shows off the shiny stuff on its High Country grille and 20-inch wheels, as well as its body-side moldings, door handles and exterior mirrors
• Premium cabin appointments, created in an exclusive saddle-brown palette and including leather front bucket seats that are both heated and cooled, Chevrolet’s MyLink technology (with 8-inch touchscreen), and a Bose surround-sound audio system
• Two available V8 engines from the new EcoTec3 family, with a standard 5.3-liter unit that makes 355 hp and delivers up to 23 mpg on the highway and an available 6.2-liter V8 (with output that is TBD)
• Packaged options like a chrome rear bumper with integrated CornerStep for easy bed access, cutting-edge driver-alert technologies and adjustable pedals, along with a sunroof, navigation system and rear-seat entertainment setup

Chevy will provide more information about the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado High Country closer to its on-sale date this fall.
