2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray Stars on 10 Best Interiors List

With the next model year already on the horizon—and the 2015 Z06 already revealed—the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray has captured another major third-party honor, and this one may be the most important yet, since it address a long-time Achilles heel for the Corvette family: its cabin. That's the one facet of the Corvette experience that has kept critics harping in past years, but the next-gen model was just honored with a 2014 10 Best Interiors award from Ward'sAuto World.

As reported by Tom Murphy, writing for the publication, the interior of the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray is "highly competitive with more-expensive rivals from Porsche and Jaguar, securing [the Stingray's] status as a sports car for the ages." Murphy also mentioned the way the car kept drivers informed about various vehicle systems, noting that: "High-visibility reconfigurable digital graphics in the instrument cluster and central display do a great job communicating mission-critical information to the driver both on and off the track."

Exemplifying that sharp focus on driver satisfaction, as well as the attention to detail that's a hallmark of the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray, designers even moved the passenger-side climate controls away from the driver's switchgear, incorporating them into a "micro LED screen" mounted below the dash vent. Other notable features of the new Corvette's premium interior include:

• Two different seat styles, highlighted by a light-weight Competition Sport design
• A fully wrapped steering wheel
• Luxurious, soft-touch materials on all surfaces
• Chevy MyLink infotaintment plus OnStar with three-dimensional nav mapping
• Available trim accents in Nappa leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and micro-suede
