Aston Martin’s 2014 Rapide S is a follow-up to the Aston Martin Rapide, which was introduced in 2010. The supercar manufacturer revised the Rapide’s exterior and beefed up the power with a revised V12 engine. The Aston Martin Rapide S is a four-door sports car with a $200,000 price tag, and a silver example is the star of this Autobytel video review, hosted by Jeff Glucker. The updated nose is the biggest visual cue that differentiates the Rapide from the Rapide S, thanks to a larger grille and a carbon fiber trim piece along the bottom of the front fascia. Sunken headlights lend an aggressive look to the front of the car, yet they blend nicely into the side profile of the Rapide S, which is characterized by smooth yet crisp creases along the body panels. A sloped back roofline compromises rear seat space, but enhances the car’s elegant shape, at least from the outside, and draws attention to the dramatic rear haunches. 550 horsepower live under the hood of this Aston Martin, thanks to a 6-liter V12 engine, paired to a Touch-tronic suspension. The Aston Martin Rapide S features an adaptive dampening suspension for a comfortable yet responsive ride, and selectable driving modes ensure the driver will never get bored behind the wheel, especially when sport mode or track mode is engaged.
