2013 Shanghai China Auto Show In Pictures

Many new concepts cars as well as vehicles new to the Chinese market were revealed at Auto Shanghai 2013 in China.

Acura created the SUV-X concept for the Chinese market. This version of the RDX is powered by a 3.5L direct-injection V6 engine, and manufacturing in China will begin within the next three years.

The luxury four-door Aston Martin GT Rapide S was revealed in Shanghai. Giving Maserati's Quattroporte a run for the high-end sports car money, the imposing new grille design belies a powerful V12 engine and improved acceleration. Also on display is the classic DB5 seen in the most recent James Bond blockbuster "Skyfall."

The third generation Audi A3 sedan debuted in Shanghai, and the four-door will be available for sale stateside in early 2014. Three powertrains will be offered in the U.S. market including the 2.0 TFSI®, 2.0 TDI® diesel version. Additionally, the Sportback version will return with Audi's e-tron plug-in technology to join the growing hybrid sector.

Touting Buick's alleged new "design language," the Riviera concept sports gullwing doors and refined aerodynamics while retaining hints of Buick's classic design cues in an intentionally fluid grille. This wireless plug-in electric concept utilizes high 4G network to communicate with other connected vehicles while providing traffic, weather, and entertainment - as well as lane departure warning, autopilot, and other safety features.

A long-wheelbase version of Infiniti's Q50 sedan will be manufactured in Xiangyang, China beginning in 2014. A new QX50 crossover (not pictured), launched in Shanghai, will also be produced for the Chinese market.

This BMW four wheel drive hatch is a plug-in hybrid that is designed to give the Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive certain competition in China as well as the US. The BMW Active Tourer concept is thought to foreshadow an entry-level series with front wheel drive.

Showcasing BMW's ambitious innovations with electric vehicles, this carbon fiber city car concept has been touring the world with the BMW i Store. The first pre-series i3 vehicles were produced in January of 2013, and actual delivery of pre-ordered vehicles is expected in the US by early 2014.
