When Hyundai introduced the new Santa Fe at the New York Auto Show this April, they surprised everyone by announcing two Santa Fes. A new long-wheelbase Santa Fe to take the place of the Veracruz and a new short-wheelbase Santa Fe Sport to take the place of the outgoing Santa Fe. We caught up with John Shon, the Product Planning Manager for the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport to give us the details about the new Sport. Shon goes explains the new Fluidic Precision design language used on the Santa Fe Sport, the 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder, and some of the changes made to the interior.
