2014 Nissan Versa Note Subcompact Video Review

Nissan has developed a two-prong attack for the subcompact market with the Versa lineup. There is the Versa sedan and the new 2014 Nissan Versa Note hatchback.

The Versa Note Hatchback looks a lot like the current Honda Fit with its small van-like shape. That shape means the Versa Note provides a lot of space for passengers and cargo. Other items to take note of on the exterior are a wide and narrow front grille and sculpting along the sides. Inside, the Versa Note comes pretty well equipped. All models get 60/40-split folding rear seats, front door map pockets with bottle holders, front and rear cup holders, 12-volt power outlet, cloth seats, and air conditioning.

Powering the Versa Note is the same 1,6L four-cylinder found in the Versa sedan. The engine provides 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque. The base S model comes with a five-speed manual transmission as standard, while the rest of the lineup gets Nissan's next-generation Xtronic CVT. The EPA rates the 2014 Nissan Versa Note at:

The 2014 Versa Note starts at $13,990 for the base S model and climbs upward to $18,490 for the SV with the SL Tech Package. Competitors to the 2014 Nissan Versa Note include the Chevrolet Sonic, Hyundai Accent, and Kia Rio.
