Despite the overwhelming opinion that non SE-R Nissan Sentras have never been a hoot to drive, I curiously expected the new 2007 model would be. That's a setup for disappointment, son. Sure, the Sentra has enough power, somewhat responsive steering, a nifty dash-mounted shifter, and a comfortable ride, but collectively that all doesn't add up to a fun driving experience. The redesigned Sentra may be fine for the daily commute or long road trip, yet take it on a side road to search out its boundaries and you'll find that game of hide and seek over pretty darn quick. Earning the “fun” tag would require a stiffer suspension as well as brakes that are more easily modulated.
