Touted as the most powerful American-made car, the Chrysler 300 marked the record books when it was introduced back in 1955. Later that year, a run on Daytona Beach confirmed it was king with a record speed of 127.580 mph. Even in 1955, the Chrysler 300 possessed 300 horsepower, but by today’s standards, the 0-60 acceleration time of 10 seconds flat is nothing to brag about. Not only is the revival of the rear-drive, V8-powered car making its return, but styling cues such as this ‘55’s big grille can be seen on the 300 series of today.
