2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Fuel economy figures are respectable for the 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse. At just under 3,300 lbs., the GS equipped with the five-speed manual transmission returns 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway; add the four-speed automatic (and about 200 lbs.) and those ratings drop to 23/29 mpg.

Equip a 2006 Eclipse GT with a six-speed stick shift, and that 3,300-lb. ride will achieve 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway; swapping in the five-speed automatic brings the curb weight to just over 3,500 lbs. but increases fuel economy to 19/28 mpg.
