With a longer roofline and more space behind the rear wheels, the XL7 thankfully doesn’t look like an Equinox, although we’re pretty sure it uses Saturn Vue taillight lenses. The profile still says something GM, but we see more Trailblazer than Equinox. The chrome exhaust finishers are nice, and we’d say the same about the chrome wheels if they were a size larger. The front end gets a lot of attention because of the peculiar headlight treatment; eliminate the triangles below the main headlight cluster and you have an instant improvement. From strictly a style standpoint the interior is merely bland, even with the faux wood bits, but the unmatched plastics and other anomalies combine to make things decidedly downgrade.
