2008 Toyota Tundra

OK, we admit that while we were impressed by the new Tundra when it came out, we didn’t think it delivered a knockout punch to the domestic trucks. No matter. What it did is still amazing: Despite a lot of naysaying by domestic fans, Toyota stepped up to the plate and proved Japan could deliver a full-size pickup with all the capability, power, torque, room and character as any of the domestics. Sure, Nissan was the first with the Titan, but Toyota did it better. Even the 5.7-liter V-8 that outpowers everything else in the class has the domestics scrambling back to the drawing board.
