The Rondo joins the Sorrento, Sedona and Rio in Kia’s southwestern-sounding naming scheme, so naturally we drove the Rondo during the Kia-sponsored preview event in Scottsdale, Ariz. Our driving route took us far and wide over the northeast Scottsdale/Phoenix countryside on an unseasonably cool day in the desert community. There wasn’t much in the way of twisty roads, but it was pretty obvious that the Rondo wasn’t designed to be a tear ‘em up kind of car. There were plenty of elevation changes, city and freeway driving and “whoop-de-doos” that tested the suspension in the kind of situations that Rondo buyers are more likely to engage in.
