TO THE POINT What's New? Plop the M3's powerful inline six, a hydraulic rather than electric steering system, a revised suspension, and styling tweaks both functional and decorative into the BMW Z4, and the result is the excellent new M Roadster.
Selling Points: Tons of torque, macho looks, impressive handling
Deal Breakers: High price, lacks refinement, only a tick faster than a stock Z4

2006 BMW M Roadster

With all of the things we need to survive on a daily basis, the BMW M Roadster does a good job of supplying space for our cell phones, I.D. tags and parking passes. Between the seats on the vertical console is the largest storage area, just in front of the shifter lies another covered tray, and a recess under the emergency brake holds loose change quite nicely. Storage areas in the lower door panels run the length of the door. Cupholders are the fold-out type, deploying from each end of the dash, and are surprisingly sturdy but block the air vents when in use.
