"Just bought the LS AWD. I had test driven this car and had been looking at another vehicle to purchase for about 1 year. Our other car is a Nissan Altima 2.5S. I am 6'1' and weigh about 250. This Equinox fits me like a glove. I have 2 children (6yrs & 19mo) and I can fit a car seat, child and adult with plenty of room in the back seat. I traded in a Caravan for this and though I am loosing the third row seat, the overall comfort for everyone has improved. I can't say as to how reliable it will be, though I think that has more on how you keep up on maintenance than anything else. I also tested allot of other vehicles before choosing this one. Style, comfort, safety, ride and driveability won me over big time.
Also, while it doesn't have as high of HP as some other V6 SUV's in it's class, the (higher than most) torque will push you back in your seat and put a little smile on your face when you punch it from a stop. ( The FWD models can squeal the tires a little ) "

"The test drive just affirmed what I had already researched. It has a great safety rating, handles wonderfully and when the AWD does kick in it does so with little shock to the driver."

"Comfortable and easy with great steering dynamics and excellent view from driver's seat. Plenty of power and good equal breaking. I really like this vehicle."

"I had wanted this car for about a year. After finishing school and starting teaching I got an '05 in late October of this year. I have loved it. However, I am on my second Equinox. I had had the first one for less than 48 hours and was driving home very late and fell asleep. I went off the road, jerked awake and jerked back onto the road, spun around, then rolled at least twice and finally landed upright. Both airbags went off and I had on my seatbelt. I walked away with three small bruises and very little soreness. I did not even have to see a doctor. A week later I got another Equinox. After the lack of injury I couldn't imagine getting anything else. Hopefully, it will do as well as my Cavalier did (214,000 miles with no major repairs-) and my husbands S-10 (220,000 miles). Go Chevy!"

"My family primarily purchases GM vehicles, we have an 02' yukon, an 04' envoy, and an 05' equinox. The equinox is the most recent purchase and is by far my favorite car to drive. Not only did this car earn an extremely high crash test rating, it is also not that bad on gas. The rear legroom in the equinox is unlike any other suv i've ever seen. This car has more legroom than even the yukon! The downside to this car is the lack of comfort that the backseat provides. This is a small problem though and can easily be overlooked. The stereo is unbelievable for being a stock item. Consider the equinox if you're in the market for a smaller suv with great performance. "
