GENERAL COMMENTS

" I purchased my silverado in July 2004. It has the Z71 offroad package leather interior onstar Bose sound and XM radio. In considering which truck to purchase power and fuel economy are equaly important to me. I added a Flowmaster muffler and Fram airhog filter. I get 18-20 MPG on short trips and over 22 on longer freeway trips. This is with the 5.3L (327CI) V8. Power is Near musclecar level. The Silverado had a hydoform steel frame which is box sectioned, coated is wax for rust prevention and has 7 crossmembers. It is extremly rigid and strong and this contributes to a quite ride and good handling. The frame structure also saves about 500 pounds of weight while providing this strength. The Silverado engine, frame and features are the product of many years of refinment. I think that it is superior to the new Nissan Titian in many key areas. "

"I love my truck. 4x4 reg. cab. 5.3 V8. I'm only sorry I didn't buy one sooner. "
Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania - August, 2004

"It handled much smother than the Ford F150 on accleration. The Extended cab gave more room for the kids! Plus Barlow Cheverolet gave me a great deal. I was very pleased!"
Moorestown , New Jersey - May, 2004

"Quiet, comfortable seating, good pick up and plenty of room."
Lynchburg , Virginia - March, 2004

"An apparently well built vehicle. However it is rather large and ungainly to drive. Basically a gas guzzler with a lot of gimmicks and gizmos. Who needs running lights, an outside temperature, compass, air bag indicating mirror? At least there should be an option to disable the running lights. I found extra cap screws that someone had disposed of in the fuse box. Icing on the cake was for the battery to fail and leave the vehicle dead after I had driven it for six miles. GM towed it back to the dealer and replaced the battery at no cost and the dealer even sent someone to pick me up to retrieve the truck. Must now return the vehicle for service because it will not idle at less than 1000rpm. Would I recommend or buy again? No, this is not the truck for me!"
Bear , Delaware - January, 2004

GENERAL LIKES

"Locking rear deferential." "Looks, power, handling....hell...everything" "The good ride" "Smooth ride" "It is not as high as most full size trucks and I do like the styling"

GENERAL DISLIKES

"It could use a couples inches more ground clearance in stock form." "NO armrest" "Towing apability could be atleast 10% better, more standard items would help." "195 HP V6- would like a little more power. " "The far too many automatic 'features' that do not permit driver control, for example the automatic lighting system and the oil change warning which must be turned off by the dealer"
