 Comments

 Favorite feature:

The car's racy styling, features, and performance.

 Least favorite feature:

I can't think of anything... If you twist my arm, I wish it didn't require premium fuel.

 Advice to buyer:

These vehicles are in demand and there aren't a lot of them, so expect a price markup.

 Detailed review:

I was in the market for a new car and perused the website of one of the local dealers, and I saw they had the Si in stock. I thought no way!!! I called to verify and was there within an hour. The Si on hand was habanero-red. In person, it looks more orange than red but I think it's a cool color. Once I got inside, my first impression was Wow! these bucket seats really grab you. I like the fact that the car is spacious, but still feels tight. When I test drove the '06 EX Coupe with navigation, the interior felt too spacious, 'kinda like I was driving a boat. On that test drive, the top of the steering wheel blocked my view of the digital speedometer. Since then I've learned that there are a large number of driving positions (telescopic steering wheel, and seat height adjusters) so that anyone can be comfortable and still see the speedometer. When I turned around and looked behind me, I thought that there isn't a whole lot of room back there. However, after the test drive I sat in the back and was surpised at how roomy it was (I'm 5'5). However, if you have 3 or more 6 footers in the car, then folks in the back probably are going to be somewhat cramped. Okay, impressions from the test drive... Shifting with the 6 speed was incredibly smooth. The shifter has very short throws and the clutch is light. The DX model felt notchy in comparison. I was a little surprised that 6th gear started around 65-75 mph. I figured it would kick in later. In fact, on the highway I was a little apprehensive to shift into 6th because that is reverse on a 5 speed :) The engine is very powerful, I like the deep throaty growl. The stereo is excellent as well. All the buttons were within easy reach, and there are audio (volume, favorite stations) and cruise control buttons on the steering wheel for added convenience. The trunk is quite roomy for a sports car, and the rear seats fold down for added trunk space. The car has a number of security features that should make it harder to steal than previous Civics. In summary, the Si is both sporty and practical, buy it. Honda has made a truly incredible car!!
