What's New for the 2004 Audi TT? New Audi TT S-line coupe and roadster models equipped with a 250-horsepower, 3.2-liter V6 engine debut, with the torquey new powerplant married to quattro all-wheel-drive and a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG). DSG is a sequential manual shifting transmission with paddle-shift controls on the steering wheel. Visually distinguishing the 2004 Audi TT S-line from other models is a modified front grille with new side gills, a larger rear spoiler and a titanium honeycomb-pattern rear bumper insert. Added hardware includes bigger brakes and a modified exhaust system. Other TT models receive standard Xenon headlights and 17-inch wheels with P225/45R17 performance tires. Brilliant White is no longer available, replaced by Imola Yellow.
Advantages of the 2004 Audi TT:
- Beautiful cabin design and materials
- Available quattro all-wheel-drive
- Free scheduled maintenance
Objections to the 2004 Audi TT: - Poor outward visibility with the coupe
- Heavy and uninspiring handling with the roadster
- Rapidly aging platform
- Turbo lag with four-cylinder engines
Editor's Advice: Stylishly trendy, the 2004 Audi TT represents the road less traveled when it comes to sporting luxury cars. Furthermore, it’s a true four-seasons automobile thanks to the available quattro all-wheel-drive system. Dynamically, it lags a bit when it comes to the fun-to-drive factor, but it’s always been fun to look at and fun to be seen in. Plus, the interior, where you’ll spend most of your TT time, is gorgeous. If style is more important than substance, the Audi TT deserves a close look.
